What is the qualification?

Level 2 qualification.

 

What will I be doing on the course?  How will it be structured?

1. Developing leadership skills

2. Plan, lead and evaluate sport/physical activity sessions

3. Assist in planning and leading a sports/physical activity event

4. Lead sport/physical activity sessions linked with the centre

 

Sports Leaders Level 2 is a nationally recognised qualification that enable successful learners to lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sport/physical activity, under indirect supervision. The course requires that you demonstrate 10 hours of successful leadership throughout the 2 years.

 

Key content: Leadership skills including organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport.

 

Assessment

We have provided an easy to use Learner Evidence Record (LER) for these qualifications. The LER is mandatory and uses the following assessments:

• Practical observation – video/photos can be used to support this
• Questioning of underpinning knowledge - via worksheets
• Plans and evaluations completed during the course
