Come and see for yourself!

Thank you for your interest in Lordswood Sixth Form Centre.

Lordswood Sixth Form Centre has developed from the two separate sixth form centres at Lordswood Girls’ and Lordswood Boys’ Schools.

We are very proud of our successful and forward looking sixth form which is in the top 1% of sixth forms nationally based on student results.

Lordswood Sixth Form Centre has a long history of success and of encouraging students to excel.

Post 16 students are able to benefit from well-qualified and inspirational teachers who are committed to ensuring that all students are able to develop key skills, knowledge and understanding and to fulfil their potential.

Furthermore, through the amalgamation of the two separate sixth forms, Lordswood Sixth Form Centre is able to offer a wider range of courses and qualifications tailored to the needs of the individual as well as a variety of opportunities designed to enrich your educational experience and prepare you for the challenging world beyond age 18.  All students leaving the centre progress to higher education, training and employment.

Personalised support and high expectations of all students are key factors in the success of Lordswood Sixth Form Centre.  In return, we expect commitment and hard work, regular attendance and completion of assignments, good punctuality and an interest and willingness to get involved in the wider life of the sixth form and local community.

Lordswood Sixth Form Centre is home to the Basketball Academy, another of the success factors of the sixth form.  The Academy offers a unique educational pathway for those interested in playing sport at the highest level whilst at the same time acquiring the necessary qualifications to progress to further study or employment.  We also have a cricket academy which is run along the same lines.

Choosing a place of study for post 16 courses is an important decision as so much of your future success depends on the skills, experiences and qualifications gained in this phase of your education.

We hope that having read all the information available, you will want to become part of this successful and exciting learning community in order to realise your ambitions.  We look forward to welcoming you as a member of Lordswood Sixth Form Centre.
