STUDENT SUPPORT
At Lordswood Sixth Form Centre we are committed to supporting our students throughout their time us and beyond. We have various support programmes in place that address our students’ academic and personal needs.
Review Tutor
Each student will be allocated a review group and review tutor. The review tutor will have regular one-to-one review meetings with their students to monitor their progress and offer support.
Academic Support
Students are taught by experienced, well-qualified staff. Subject teachers and Lead Professionals will track academic progress and provide one-to-one support and any appropriate intervention to ensure students achieve their academic potential.
Well-being Support
Ms Richards, our Post-16 Student Support Co-ordinator is on hand to offer well-being support to our students. Appointments can be booked to see the school nurse and, if required, referrals can be made to outside agencies for further personal and family support.
Financial Support
Bursary
Discretionary and vulnerable bursaries are available for eligible students. These bursaries help students with education-related costs and is money that can be used to pay for things like:
clothing, books and other equipment for their course
transport and lunch on days you study or train
Bursary application forms are available from the sixth form office.
16-18 travel photocard
Network West Midlands offer full-time students the opportunity to buy child rate tickets for travel on the bus, train and tram. The sixth form team will be able to provide you with the unique validation code required to get your photocard.
Post-18 Support
Lordswood Sixth Form Centre provides excellent advice and guidance to help students with their future aspirations and make their post-18 choices.
