CODES OF CONDUCT

LSFC Dress Code

 

Tops - Smart and not revealing.

Trousers - Smart.  If jeans are worn they should be smart, fitted and dark.

Skirts and dresses - Smart and not revealing. Dark tights should be worn with shorter length skirts and dresses.

Footwear - Mid/Low-heeled smart shoes and boots, trainers.

Outdoor wear - Hats, caps, hooded tops, coats, non-formal jackets, denim jackets, leather jackets are considered outdoor wear and SHOULD NOT BE WORN IN LESSONS, ASSEMBLIES, MEETINGS or REVIEW TIME.

Religious and cultural dress - Religious and cultural dress is permitted (including head scarves, skull caps and turbans) unless deemed a risk to health and safety. The full face must be visible to ensure language is not obscured.

ID Badges - ID badges must be worn by ALL students and be visible at ALL times.  ID badges must be worn around the neck with the photo facing forward and the right way up. You will be required to purchase a replacement badge if you forget/lose your badge.

 

Not Permitted

 

Tops

Football shirts.

Band T-shirts.

Tops with inappropriate products, language or messages.

Low-cut vests, crop tops, cold-shoulder and tops through which underwear or excessive skin is visible.

 

Trousers

Low-rise stonewashed, faded, ripped or rolled up jeans.

Leggings (unless worn under a dress or skirt).

Military style ‘combat’ trousers.

Tracksuit/Sports clothing (unless for practical sports sessions).

 

Skirts and Dresses

Excessively short skirts (mid-thigh length or above).

Shorter skirts worn with bare legs or light coloured tights.

 

Footwear

Flip flops/slipper style backless shoes.

High stiletto shoes or boots.

Footwear considered a health and safety risk or excessively informal.

 

Jewellery/Accessories

Hair/Tattoos/Piercings.

Tattoos which contain inappropriate images or language.

Tattoos should not be seen.

Jewellery which could present a health and safety hazard.

Extremes of hair styles/colour.

Multiple facial or indiscreet piercings (a discreet nose stud is permitted but not piercings of eyebrow/lip etc).

 

LSFC Mobile Device Code

 

We understand that mobile devices are a useful learning and communication tool for sixth form students. You are therefore allowed to use your mobile devices providing you adhere to the following guidelines.

 

During Lessons

UNLESS APPROVED BY THE TEACHER:

Mobile phones/devices/headphones should NOT be used.

Mobile phones/devices should be turned OFF.

Mobile phones/devices/headphones should not be on display.

 

Around School

MOBILE PHONES/DEVICES/HEADPHONES MUST NOT BE USED OR ON DISPLAY IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

Corridors.

Canteen, conservatory or ante-hall during whole school break and lunchtimes.

Any area where they are visible to students in lower years.

 

Permitted Areas

Sixth form only social areas (hall, canteen, conservatory) when students in lower years are not present.

 

Attendance & Punctuality Code

 

Lordswood Sixth Form Centre expects a minimum attendance of 95% from all students. Students are required to attend the Sixth Form Centre every day they have a timetabled lesson.

 

Registration

All students will be expected in to register each morning with their review tutor unless they are on work placement.

 

Unauthorised Leave

LSFC does not authorise holidays in term time. In exceptional circumstances, the Headteacher may authorise leave. An application form and guidance should be requested at least two weeks before the planned absence.

 

Absence Due to Illness

Notify the school by 8.30am on the day of absence.

Students must bring a letter from home to explain all absences due to illness on their first day back in school.

Any long-term medical condition which is having an impact on attendance and/or punctuality must be discussed with a member of the sixth form team.

 

Authorised Occasional Absence Requests

The following absences will be authorised:

Hospital, orthodontist appointments

University open days and interviews

Driving tests

Absences should be requested at least 24 hours by completing the form available from the sixth form office.

 

Unauthorised Occasional Absence Requests

The following absences will NOT be authorised:

Standard Doctor/Dentist.

Driving lessons.

Any appointments that can be made out of lesson time.

 

Punctuality

Students are expected to arrive on time for registration and all timetabled sessions. Registers are taken in all sessions. Students will be subject to the LSFC disciplinary code if they are late.
