What is the qualification?

Level 2 qualification in ICT

 

What will I be doing on the course?  How will it be structured?

Functional Skills qualifications give you a practical grounding in how to apply ICT skills to everyday situations. With a strong focus on explanation and problem solving, using real-life contexts they allow your students to apply their ICT skills in a variety of situations.

 

Assessment

One question paper (Part A and Part B) externally set and marked by the examination board.

Practical tasks using a computer and completion of short answer questions under examination conditions.

 

What skills do I need to develop to be successful at this course?

Communication in Functional Skills in ICT will equip you with the skills to use a computer confidently and build on existing knowledge and encourage further learning. It can help you communicate more effectively and access information more easily.

 

What could I use this qualification for?

Employers will expect you to be confident with the functions of Microsoft Office, email and searching the Internet.  Functional Skills will allow you to demonstrate you have the ability to do this.
