GCSE PHOTOGRAPHY
The art department inspires students at Lordswood to be creative whilst studying a range of topics, exploring different materials and practising a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, clay modelling, printmaking and photography. Every scheme of work is designed to allow students to make independent decisions and develop work which is meaningful to them. As students advance through the school, the level of skills demonstrated and practised in class becomes steadily more difficult. Lessons are planned to encourage progress across all abilities and drop in lunchtime clubs offer the chance to refine and extend skills further with staff support.
After school, the department provides regular additional sessions for Key stage 4 and 5 students who would like to spend more time using school equipment or who need extra help with their work. Throughout the year, opportunities are opened up to key stage 3 students to join in bespoke workshops or join the Arts Award group which works towards either the Bronze or Silver Arts Award.
